‘Dogman’, hailed by
many as the English 'Neil Young' has crafted a collection of enchanting
acoustic tracks as a follow up to his 2010 album ‘The Whisperer’.
Christened ‘Dogman’ by UK
indie rock band, Starsailor over 10 years ago, the name has since stuck. The UK folk singer’s musical roller coaster
began in the 1970's when he formed an acoustic band named Ulysses. Since
then Dogman has embarked on various musical projects and journeys and now
believes he has finally found his true voice, creating beautifully crafted
acoustic style folk songs that have real depth.
The resemblance to Neil Young is undeniable and whilst influenced by the
folk rock and country King, Dogman’s music stands on its own two feet. His side project ‘The Crossbreed’ with Japan-based
producer ‘Mikans’ takes Dogman’s songs and combines them with ambient
electronica to create instrumental soundscapes in a series of powerful remixes.
Dogman and The Crossbreed
albums are due for release on Expat Records in late Spring 2011.
Bio
Dogman aka David Sands
has a loyal fan base drawn to his lyrical and inventive folk ballads. But
Dogman also has a secret double life as a television presenter, author and
leading expert animal behaviourist. Sands, once a high flying business man in
London, gave it all up for a career in animal research and behaviour which has
taken him across the globe over the past 10 years. Sands’s current solo folk
project, Dogman, is often compared to the music and style of Neil Young, but
his distinctive style stands on it’s own two feet. Just signed with Expat
Records, Dogman will release a solo CD this Spring, as well as a collaboration
with renowned Japan-based producer “Mikans” under the name The Crossbreed.
Dogman’s 2010 album ‘The Whisperer’ received critical acclaim, and the new
album released by Expat Records will not disappoint fans.
About Expat Records
EXPAT
RECORDS has close to 100 artists across the globe (including funk and soul
legends Kool & the Gang) and is fast becoming one of the biggest
independent labels in the world.
Expat
Records prides itself in being different for 2 reasons. Firstly, respect for
the artist. Expat artists retain their copyrights and receive a higher
percentage of profits than they do from other labels. Secondly, rather than failing to adapt to
today’s music market, Expat Records is embracing modern technology and has
developed a suite of propriety systems and packages that get the artist and
their music in front of a huge audience without the artists accumulating any
debt. This level of online promotion is unrivalled by any other record
company in the world. Each artist is also provided with a micro-site, iPhone
app, merchandise, physical and digital distribution, synchronisation licensing
marketing, radio promotion, video production facilities and much more. Expat
Records is looking to further grow their roster and is seeking talented and hard
working artists from all genres. Please forward your Soundcloud and/or Myspace
