Fun in the sun at last year’s Playday in Chorley.
Chorley’s Coronation Recreation Ground on Wednesday for some fabulous free fun
for all the family.
More than 1,000 youngsters and
families are expected to enjoy four hours of uninterrupted pleasure with a
whole host of attractions at Playday, organised by Chorley Council.
Councillor John Walker, Chorley
Council’s Executive Member (People) said: “Playday is a fantastic event for all
the family to enjoy. This annual event has just got bigger and better each year
and this year there will be even more free attractions and entertainment.
“There is so much going on you
won’t want to miss anything, so why not come along for the day and bring a
picnic?”
Those who go along on Wednesday,
August 4, will be able to take part in circus skills, balloon modelling, magic
tricks, arts and crafts, clay modelling, football, bowling and cycling.
There will also be a Punch and Judy
Show, a painting wall and much more, and there’s also a Home-Start Teddy bears’
Picnic at 12.30pm for anyone who brings along a teddy bear.
This year international athletes Alyn
Condon, a member of the Great Britain two man bobsleigh team and former
Commonwealth and European sprint relay champion, and Great Britain handball
team captain Ciaran Williams will by at Playday at noon to officially launch
the start of Chorley Council’s new Streetgames summer programme.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm and
is supported by the Chorley Play Partnership and Home-Start Chorley and South
Ribble.
