DON’T forget to head on down to

Chorley’s Coronation Recreation Ground on Wednesday for some fabulous free fun

for all the family.

More than 1,000 youngsters and

families are expected to enjoy four hours of uninterrupted pleasure with a

whole host of attractions at Playday, organised by Chorley Council.

Councillor John Walker, Chorley

Council’s Executive Member (People) said: “Playday is a fantastic event for all

the family to enjoy. This annual event has just got bigger and better each year

and this year there will be even more free attractions and entertainment.

“There is so much going on you

won’t want to miss anything, so why not come along for the day and bring a

picnic?”

Those who go along on Wednesday,

August 4, will be able to take part in circus skills, balloon modelling, magic

tricks, arts and crafts, clay modelling, football, bowling and cycling.

There will also be a Punch and Judy

Show, a painting wall and much more, and there’s also a Home-Start Teddy bears’

Picnic at 12.30pm for anyone who brings along a teddy bear.

This year international athletes Alyn

Condon, a member of the Great Britain two man bobsleigh team and former

Commonwealth and European sprint relay champion, and Great Britain handball

team captain Ciaran Williams will by at Playday at noon to officially launch

the start of Chorley Council’s new Streetgames summer programme.

The event runs from 11am to 3pm and

is supported by the Chorley Play Partnership and Home-Start Chorley and South

Ribble.
