I believe my family on my mothers side " The Berry,s " used to be in chorley
my granddads brother had a scrap yard there for many years ,
As I am doing a family tree I would like to find out if there is some Family still there
I wonder if Any one can give me any info on this subject ,

I'm looking for information about an old milkman from the Chorley area, he worked with my dad (Bob Crawford) at Owens Travel Agency when i was a little boy and i haven't seen him for many many years. If you know of him can you direct him to this post. His name is Bernard Whittle (at least i think it was Whittle). If you can help me i would be grateful.

With regard to a scrapyard in Chorley i remeber two of them one was at the top of Halliwell St (Where i lived as a child) and the large one down at Birkacre. I'm sorry but i don't know the name of the owners.

If you mean Jack Berry from the wagon scrap yard in Westbourne Road (now an housing Estate) ,I used to play with his children when I was young, all 5 children, 3 boys, 2 girls still live in Chorley, I am not in contact with any of them but my son knows one of their children, I will pass a message on via my son to look at this web site

My wife has just reminded me of another son so 4 sons 2 girls, I thought there was another child but they were babies, so possibly 1 more girl as I though it may be a girl,

Anyway I hope they get in contact with you soon :)
