Police are investigating an arson attack on a Horwich recycling plant.

Between
11pm on Bank Holiday Monday, 30 August 2010, and 2.15am the following day,
Tuesday, 31 August 2010, offenders started a fire in one the warehouses
containing waste at the Horwich Recycling Centre on Chorley New Road.
The
fire took hold in the large warehouse and remains ablaze.
A
number of road closures were put in place, including Chorley New Road between
Ramsbottom Road and Victoria Road, while emergency services deal with the
scene.
These
closures remain in place so motorists are advised to avoid the area if
possible.
Detective
Constable Wayne Hagan, of Bolton CID, said: "This fire is being treated as
malicious and we are keen for anyone with information to get in touch.
"It
has caused a lot of disruption locally and caused massive inconvenience for
residents and the firm itself.
"I
want to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to catch the
perpetrators."
