Boy charged with Penwortham carjacking

A 16 YEAR OLD
BOY from Preston has been charged in connection with a carjacking robbery in
Penwortham last month.
The 16 year
old from Penwortham has been charged with robbery, dangerous driving, driving
without a licence or insurance and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He
was remanded to appear before Chorley Magistrates court on 01 September 2010.
The incident
occurred on Wednesday 4th August 2010 on Leyland Road, Penwortham when a woman
left her Seat Leon insecure as she went to a cashpoint machine.
As the
vehicle was being driven off, the victim tried to stop her vehicle being stolen
but was dragged at speed along the pavement causing her to fall and sustain
bruising to her face, hip and hands.
